Wind Engineering Laboratory with an unique boundary layer wind tunnel in Poland which permits wind simulation in the ground boundary layer is an organizational unit of the Cracow University of Technology. It functions within the Institute of Structural Mechanics of the Civil Engineering Faculty.
In the laboratory, experimental and computational works in the following fields of wind engineering are realized:
- Wind physics in the ground boundary layer;
- Aerodynamics of buildings and structures;
- Snow load simulation at low-speed winds (snow precipitation simulation) and at moderate or high-speed winds (snow redistribution simulation);
- Aerodynamics of mobile engineering objects;
- Wind and wind-environmental climate;
- Wind power engineering;
- Normalization, codification and regulation of various wind engineering problems.
The basic data characterizing the wind tunnel are presented in figures 1 and 2.
